1.5 year old RIR has been standing in the laying box very calmly for 2 days. Epsom salt bath and internal exam to no avail.
This morning checked on her and did another exam to feel for an egg. Nothing solid, this discharge came out. Looks like egg white and yolk to me but I might be...
I have 3- Merry, Pippin, & Samwise. They are all from mypetchicken and are huge love bugs. Genuinely like little puppies. But they are very high maintenance!
They get bumble foot often, whereas none of my other chickens have gotten it more than once. You need to trim their nails! Stay on top...
I got my hops from a local brewery! Greatlakeshops.com also has a nice selection and great customer service.
You would have to work to get hops to grow successfully in zone 9 since they require cool days and can be susceptible to disease in high humidity. I'm not saying it's impossible, it just...
A time lapse of 1 month's growth with 3 plants. Already giving much needed afternoon shade. They'd be bigger if I had put up chicken wire sooner 😂. Zone 5b. I'll update in a month when they have taken over all the ropes!
I switched to a black container with nipple waterers and never had algae again. You want something that will not let light in. Algae can't grow without light.

A few thoughts!
It might be worth exploring fermenting their feed just to unlock all the nutrients of the flax seeds, sunflower seeds, lentils, corn, & peas.
Make sure to input your ratios into a macro tracker to ensure at least 16% protein, though I prefer 20% for my own flock.
1 week...
