Yes, we had a rooster with feathered legs from eggs that we hatched. That one has been disqualified because of the feather legs, comb, and general attitude is wrong. All the other seems to be correct beyond possibly the leg color. The leg color on the hens are light and the rooster is tad...
I'm a little confused as to the willow leg comment. I was pretty sure that they where a slate colored breed so I went back to the Greenfire Farms page since as far I know they imported them and everyone's is based off of theirs and they appear to be slate legged. Is there a standards page to...
Sorry it took a while to reply. I have been getting home too late to take photos but here are other photos of them. Hopefully this will clear up any questions. I didn't bother taking any more of the splash rooster. Thank you for looking at them and giving me input. I want to make sure they...
The splash rooster has feathered legs not feet but he has feathers down the shanks. He is also aggressive were as none of my others are the least bit aggressive. By aggressive I mean he tends to be pushy not actually mean. Yes, they are laying olive colored eggs slightly different colors but a...
So I have two pair of Isbar that I hatched and one of the roosters is throwing a few oddball things at me and I was curious what everyone else thought about them. Please keep in mind these are laying chickens and not show chickens. I have since given them a bath but they are dirty in these...
Describes anconas perfectly. And they have SUCH personality. I don't know if its more than other breeds or you just notice it more because with anconas its easy to know each duck by their name. (No 2 are just alike. Easy to tell who's who from a distance)
Anyone have one hatch with WHITE down? It has some chocolate, some yellow, and lots of PURE WHITE down. After hatching what seems like a bazillion anconas in the last year, this is a first for us.
Agree that it sounds like Coccidosis, Where are you located? From your name, I assume Louisiana. You can find Corrid at Tractor Supply. Works wonders. Oh, and DON'T give any vitamins while treating for coccidosis. They feed on one of the vitamins (One of the B's I think) So giving vitamins...
Hi! We have 3 Campines. A gold hen and a silver hen, and a silver rooster. Can I cross the gold and silver and get true colors or will they *mix*? I read that if I have a gold roo they'll be sex-link, but sadly my roo is silver.
Anyone know what my results will be?
I know this is an old post, but has anyone done this and can share the results? I'm coming up empty on my web searches about this.
We have a silver roo and both silver and gold hens that just started laying. They are housed together. I don't want to incubate them and hatch poorly colored...
