Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

For the record. We do not know where my BIL got these chickens. We do not know how old they are. He had them from when they were little. Their beaks are not the issue here. We have a chicken with a solid mass floating around in her abdomen. She acts NORMAL. Eating, drinking, pooping. They...

Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

Hi. I know they were getting a mix of corn and other feed at my Brother in laws, we have been giving them a mix of grit, oyster shells and high protein feed for the past two weeks. Corn is just a filler. Not good for any animals or even humans.

Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

I am pretty sure my Brother in law got them as pullets, so we "rescued" them from his yard after his passing. They were very well taken care of, had a nice run with warm coop (for Ohio). She walks normally. *shrug* Unless we turned her over and looked and felt we would never know there was an...

Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

Hi, I'm no chicken expert so you're in good company. We do not know where my BIL got them from, or how long he had them. I have no idea if their beaks are cut , worn or just deformed. The one we are concerned with has a strangly deformed beak. It looks like she has a tooth on one side. I...

Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

I forgot to tell you we have no idea how old they are. She is swollen and we can feel an egg in there. I can post pictures of her abdomen, but she's isn't keen on consent. LOL She could be done laying. We have only gotten 5 eggs in one day since bringing them here. Mostly it's two or three...

Egg Bound Chicken for at least 15 days.

Hello everyone, I have a conundrum. We inherited 8 chickens from my late brother in law. We brought them home to Mississippi from Ohio on the 10th of June. One of the chickens is egg bound. She has been since we got her, we suspect she was even before we got her. (BIL was in and out of the...

    Chickens gone

I am very sure she was not pulled through the gap until she was dead, the majority of the feathers were inside the cage, not outside, there were just a few scattered here and there outside the cage. Our impression is; something went in and grabbed her and then pulled her out. One of our...

    Chickens gone

Hi, I know I am not on this forum much but I know you all will understand my sadness. We used to have three chickens. It's a small flock, they were donated and our location is near a neighborhood and part business area. Since they were donated we got them as adults. They were here for two...

    Hello from Slidell, Louisiana

Hey, thanks for the welcome and advise. :-) The red one, yes she is a Leghorn, doesn't just peck at me but will fly up and try to scratch me if I let her get too close. She has started growing her feathers back, so I am relieved to see that. I let them free range as often as I can. We have...
