I got started chicken keeping when I was 10 years old after begging my parents to buy chicks. As an adult I have expanded my flock and begun a breeding program. I use my chickens as a source of meat and eggs, working towards complete self sufficiency. My longterm goal is to breed my own strain of chicken which is specifically adapted to my local environment.

I also own ducks as a source of meat and eggs. I am working on getting geese in the future.
