I currently have a 10yr old hen left from a flock of 14 and have since gotten 12 new pullets (7wks old now). I have the coop divided, but have not put the young ones in there yet. Planned on it being divided for 2wks or so.
Any experience with such an older hen accepting a new chicks? Shes been...

I had ordered for the 1st time online from Mt Healthy last May. Minimum order was 10, so I ordered 12 thinking maybe a couple maybe wouldn't make it and they sent 14. ALL were females to my surprise, including the mystery chicks. It was a bit pricier this way ( ordering so few) but well worth...

She should be laying by now 32 weeks and no colors so far...she has olive colored legs too
Had my very first broody Christmas week! A young 7 mos old New Hampshire from Mt Healthy. I did catch it early, day 3 and thanks to this forum got her in the wire cage
that day. My first mistake was letting her free range that evening for a bit "hoping" she'd have a quick recovery,as shes so...
My 2 production reds were the 1st @ 22 wks
