Chicken Top Beak Pulled Up/Off of Quik

Thanks @Wyorp Rock . Does the top layer grow back like our finger nails would?

    Beak damage

Do you think her break will grow back? I have a wyandotte with the same injury. How's Maybelle doing now?

Chicken Top Beak Pulled Up/Off of Quik

Do you see how her top beak is raised off of what looks like muscle underneath (dark red bloody part)?

Chicken Top Beak Pulled Up/Off of Quik

With the hard part of the beak pulled up and off of what I'm assuming is a muscle underneath will that actually heal? Will she grow a new beak? It's been 5 days now and the beak is definitely still lifted up off the under part. Poor thing 😞

Chicken Top Beak Pulled Up/Off of Quik

My 18 month old Wyandotte Vivian has sustained an injury to her to beak - appears it has pulled up and off of the Quik, it appears somewhat torn closer to the nostral area. This happened late yesterday, I found her in the coop about an hour before they usually go to bed, clearly in shock. I...

Updated - Corid and Amprol (amprolium) Dosing

@casportpony update me chicks are nearing 48 hours on corid and I'm seeing improvement! Weighed all the girls today and the smalls that we're struggling gained 0.3 ounces just like the big girls (I'm taking that as a good sign). I have still witnessed some diarrhea, however some of the droppings...

Coccidia in Wyandotte Chicks or something else? - help

@coach723 you are my angel today, seriously THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I just finished my lunch break check on my chicks and all have gained 0.2 to 0.4 ounces in the last 24 hours. I'm taking that as a win and hoping it means we made the right choice to test for coccidia. I haven't...

Coccidia in Wyandotte Chicks or something else? - help

@coach723 another user responded in the corid thread with this : "Cocci usually does not bother chicken chicks like they do peachicks. It is more likely a bacterial infection, I would give one drop of Baytril orally and repeat if no progress is made within a day." Everything I've read states...

Thank you. Is there any harm to giving corid and baytril at the same time?

Coccidia in Wyandotte Chicks or something else? - help

This biggest improvement I've seen is the weight gain. Prior to treatment my two smalls were only gaining about 0.1 ounce per day. 24 hours after treatment started they gained 0.5 ounce. At least I think I can attribute that to treatment? Droppings are about the same - yellow foamy-ish but I do...

Coccidia in Wyandotte Chicks or something else? - help

Thank you! Does anything else present the same as coccidia? Just wondering if I'm missing something or if I'm truly doing everything I can for my babies.

Coccidia in Wyandotte Chicks or something else? - help

I'm a first time chicken momma and I'm terrified! Help please I'm desperate 😭 I have 14 day Old wyandotte chicks. I noticed 2 were very small, I saw yellow foamy-ish droppings and one girl lays slightly on her side and is a tad less active. I suspect coccidia so begin corid 20% at 1.5 teaspoons...
