    Thanks. My silkie is pure white, so it was a surprise to see so much red amongst the grey, black & white!

    Just wondering if these are common colours from a bluebell? Father is a silkie and the mother is a bluebell. All 5 chicks are different (including 2 jet black) but this one is the brightest with the blue ears and legs. Not seen one like this before and is now about 5 months old.

    Thanks, that does make sense. One of the white silkies came from the line of a chocolate silkie so maybe it wasn’t the bluebell’s own egg (there were a mix in there) . Thanks again

    I just saw your post, I hope it’s hatched ok. It’s hard to know what to do - I think you did The right thing (my chick seemed to be bleeding quite a lot too From the membrane but yet when it came out there was no sign of blood).

    Panic over! Within 30 mins of posting this the egg hatched a perfect little chick - with no bleeding , closely followed by the hatching of another egg that I didnt even noticed had pipped! Happy now
