    Bresse and Maran Cross?

    Did you ever do this cross? I was curious because I have Marans and Bresse and was thinking of doing the same. Did you ever finish out the Marans with the milk? I thought that was a good idea and would love to know what the results were.

    Looking for BBS ameraucana hatching eggs. Show quality!!!

    Newbie here trying to learn about chicken breeding (and I'm also interested in the BBS ameraucana)...why don't breeders have breeding pens set up in the colder months?

    BIN -12+ Mixed eggs for fun - Colored Egg Pack

    The solid black one (seconds from right) came from a dark brown egg and the one in the back left with it's head down between the two looking at the camera also came from a brown egg, the rest came from blue eggs. We are so happy with our chicks!

    Here's our little flock! They are very healthy and doing great! This little gray one below is already my favorite, very sweet natured. From her feathers I'm guessing (and hoping) pullet, but as I understand it feather sexing isn't entirely accurate.

    I would love to see a picture. By the way, both dark brown eggs hatched out. One was completely black and the other was really dark with some small patches of white, similar to the other EEs that have hatched. Do you now what they might be?

    My chicks are just starting to hatch! One EE out now, it's sort of grayish, and most of the others have pipped. I can hear them chirping from the other room as I type!
