Hi all!
I've had a broody hen sitting on some eggs for 22 days now.
I candled the eggs this morning to confirm movement however when putting one back, the hen pecked at it. It's a small hole but a little drop of blood came out... I've never hatched chicks before so not quite sure what to do...
Hello everyone!
I'm curious if anyone has had Cornish cross chickens as "pets"?
I ended up purchasing 2 as chick's last year, one unfortunately passed young but the other one is still living her best life (minus developing some wry neck yesterday)
Has anyone kept Cornish hens long term? And...
He had it on his comb and waddles.
I did just discover that my chickens have mites or lice. Not sure which. They are small and yellowish.
I will be treating with bronco spray and hope it does the trick!
I'm not sure if this is something to worry about, but my rooster has this bald spot on his leg.
He is currently in the indoor chicken hospital as he suffered some bad frostbite. He is almost healed up but I noticed this balding starting to happen.
He acting normal, eating, drinking, looks happy...
Thanks for all the replies!
I do have good ventilation and make sure to do normal coop cleanings. ( I don't do.deep litter as i heard this can cause alot of moisture. The Temps have just been all over the map this winter which can't be easy on them.
I will keep him indoors until he is healed up...
My poor guy has bad frostbite. How can I help him heal and get better? I've read alot of threads but there is alot of mixed opinions which is making things a bit confusing.

Hi all!
I purchased Ayam cemani chick's a few weeks ago and they are now 5-6 weeks old.

I currently have...
My bresse hens have always had floppy combs but lately I'm noticing dark spots on some of them. One even have a chunk missing? What could.be causing this.
They are bit on the paler side however I treated them for coccidiosis 2 weeks ago. They have slowly been turning redder since.
Should I be...
Ok.thank you! That's very helpful! I know for sure 2 of them are passing blood in the stool and combs are turning pale but other than that no other symptoms. Still laying eggs, eating and drinking / acting normal.
Do you happen to know how this illness happens? Could it be brought in by other...
I did purchase corid but the dosage is a bit confusing.
It shows 10 oz per 125 gallons. (For calves)
My math came up with 1/2 oz for a 3 gallon waterer. Or am I way off?
Found these 2 poops in my coop this morning.
Chickens are acting normal and still eating / drinking.
I know blood in stool is normally a sign of coccidiosis but could there be any other reason?
Also, is amprolium the only/best option for treatment?
Thank you
