Has anyone ever covered their incubator (not the vent of course) to help eggs incubate better? Long story short, we incubated eggs in 2 completely different incubators in a room completely different from what we normally use. Bad batches in both. We know our eggs are great because other people...
We have one very dark BCM egg left to hatch that is 38 hours past due. Dry incubation in Texas. Lockdown 65%.The others have hatched. We heard it peeping yesterday, so it internally pipped. Then heard nothing since. We were fixing to shut the incubator down when we heard it peeping again, but...
Is that for BCM? That's what we are hatching. A friend used a Hova-Bator dry the entire 21 days on some of our dark Marans eggs and had a really good hatch. We have a Kebonnixs that i due for lockdown and I'm tempted to try it, but also a little afraid.
We dry incubate with the BCM and have a much better outcome. But we have never had the humidity bottom out that low while hatching. We were concerned about shrink wrap, etc.

The indoor humidity for the house ranged from 44% to 47% today. Will that work? These are due to hatch tomorrow, Wednesday at 9:30 pm. Even though I have been adding water, should I stop now with another 26 hours left? The room is 81 degrees, with humidity at 44%. The incubator is at 99.5...
Has anyone ever dry-incubated AND hatched Black Copper Marans eggs successfully? No water the entire 21 days? I know someone who swears by it, but would like to hear from others. We are south of Dallas, Tx.
