This girl has been limping and the skin around her eye is exposed. She can’t make any noise now something seems to be juting out of her neck when she opens her mouth. Should we just put her out of her misery? 😔
Just added new birds yesterday and there is space in the coop and the run is about 8x6. The bigger birds stay upstairs quite a bit due to the cold weather.
There are 6 chickens that have been a flock for quite some time and we added 3 more and today was the first day of them being together. Also the hen that was attacking isn’t the flock leader which is why I am even more confused. The run is about 8x5
I cant tell of this is excessive when establishing the pecking order, it’s been the one hen attacking the other very aggressively for the vast majority. She won’t let her into the coop as well. They are similar in size but the one hen just keeps attacking her even though she’s clearly stronger...

I heard today that the feed and percent of protein effects egg shell color. Like if you wanted a stronger blue to increase the amount of protein, any opinions?
I have 5 week old baby chicks and they need to be moved outside or into a bigger brooder. Here is the weather for the next week, would they be ok? I have a good insulated coop.
