I haven't heard of capillary worms. What are the symptoms, and could that explain the blood? I will look into getting the liquid safeguard, I wish I would have gotten the liquid in the first place.
She wasn't pooping a lot and it was just blood at times, and sometimes she'd have fibery material like feathers or grass in it, and since we don't know exactly what's wrong with her we're tubing with mineral oil and water to help move stuff along incase there is a blockage, as well as keeping...
Well she's still alive this morning. Overnight she pooped out some slightly harder feces that were a little fibery, but there was still some blood. She's still pretty lethargic but I saw her drink a little water. I think we're going to get her out and check her crop, maybe tube some water and...
I've tubed her already, we have a small rubber tube that we used to put mineral oil down her last week before she got worse. She's been very lethargic an barely moves at all. Her comb is still flopped over an looks terrible.
So far today we've soaked her in a warm bath for 30 min, which she...
We gave her the liquid corid at about 1/2 of a teaspoon per pint, we only have a little dish of water in her cage. And I disposed of the stringy stuff already but here's another poop.
A picture of her or the stringy poop? I pulled the poop pellet thing apart and it looked fibery like grass or feathers or something of that sort and it smelled terrible, there was also a little blood and liquid
Thanks, I've noticed that she has a squishy crop now and her breath kind if smells like sour crop. She passed a lump of some type of stringy material and some blood. I'm starting to wonder if it's an impaction that lead to sour crop, but that still doesn't explain all the blood unless...
Is corid similar to that? It was fairly expensive for 1 bottle so if it works the same I'll stick with corid. Hopefully by the second day of treatment she'll be ok like yours was.
We got the safeguard pelleted dewormer, I think it's labeled for goats, I didn't want to mix the liquid dewormer and liquid corid together. I put a little plain yogurt over the pellets and she ate a small handful of them. I don't know what it means but her crop, which usually stands straight...
Thank you for replying! We do have her separated and in the warm garage. I doubt it's a serious disease because we haven't introduced any new hens and we never take them anywhere. All the other hens seem fine. I feel like it may be something going on internally, or maybe a blockage that's past...
Can someone please answer my questions? Ive given her corid in the water and dewormed her last night. This morning shes still pooping mostly liquid and blood. I fed her last night and her crop was full when i went to bed. But today her crop is still full but it feels like its mostly liquid.
