    Humane why to kill male chicks

    use a board with 2 nails in a v shape, put the chick in and pull back a little and use a hatchet. it barely takes any anything when the necks are stretched a little. this Is how I take care of sick birds I wont eat

    i usually raise mine to 10 weeks, but I don't feed high protein feed. my biggest rooster weighed in at 9 lb butchered weight.

    Plucker Problems

    when I use my plucker, I try to scald them around 140-145. I hold them under for about 10 seconds at a time. seems to work fine for me.

    i usually scald chickens at 140-150 to pluck, when I did Muscovy's I had to raise it to 160-170 to get them to pluck right.
