    Sometimes I will give mealworms to chicks and when they are looking for more they will grab the toes of other chicks and run around dragging the chicks, lol.

    yes it is the same stuff you use on the potatoes. Use 5% sevin dust. No it is not dangerous for the chickens. just make sure you don't get it in the chicken's eyes and keep them out of the coop till it settles.

    there are a few illnesses that can be passed to chicks through the egg from the parents. I would just keep wiping the eyes with warm water to control the matting, some neosporin or terramycin ointment might be beneficial also.

    check her neck especially on the back, if there are small punctures it could be a weasel. Other than that it could have been that the other burds just crushed her buy sitting on her trying to keep warm overnight.

    does the have watery, or bubbly eyes (conjunctivitis)? It could be something more serious but if it is only isolated to this one bird it probably isn't.
