Sort of same scenario. Roo came after husband and husband hit him so hard he knocked him out. We thought he was dead at first but he came to eventually. After some time in a box he started acting half way okay and we put him back in the run. He acted drunk and skittish for a while. Now he seems...
I had a chicken die. She was just sitting out in the yard yesterday evening so I brought her in last night and this morning she was dead. She was ok yesterday morning. No visible signs of injury. No cloudy eyes or fever. What could this be and should I be worried about rest of flock?

Please expand on what other nutrients I am losing by giving more protein. There are probably 10 meal worms per quart of feed. I mix 3 small bags of worms with a 50 lb bag of feed.

Mine has been clucking loudly ever since she has decided not to lay in the coop! We got a very large rat snake out of the coop and while they will go in to roost, they refuse to lay in there any more. They lay under a box in the run! I wonder if I remove the box if they will opt for the coop...
Yes. My son killed it. I like my eggs more than snakes! We tried relocating him once ( from inside the house! Yikes) but he came back to the coop. Sorry Charlie. No more free lunches for you!
