Need some feedback about broody with adoptive chicks

It's very interesting. She's not kicking them out or trying to get away from them. She just absolutely does not want them out from under her.

Need some feedback about broody with adoptive chicks

I have a hen who has been broody for about a month now. She was sitting on fertile eggs. My hubby and I went away and my inlaws collected the wrong eggs. They brought in the fertile ones. Sigh. I'm in Hamilton! The wind is CRAZY! My chickens did great through the winter. I got them in October so this was my first winter. I. was a wreck about them at night a lot, but I now know I didn't need to be. :)

How much treats is too much treats? Specifically sweet treats (grapes) for chicks.

I agree with gator shark. I don't think it's really wise to give them treats that young, but all i have to go on is that they are little and so new. Maybe I'm wrong.

    Normal Flock Size?

Right now I have 6 chickens. Two are 5 month old roo's that hatched with my first hatch. I need to get rid of one of those roosters and get a few more chickens before he starts getting frisky. I don't want him to hurt my girls.

    Meat birds and children

I have told my children which ones we will be eating and which ones are for us to love all over and play with from day one. It's worked so far. I was very surprised though. We had a raccoon get my Americana and my Barred Rock. They were two we were not going to eat. My kids were disappointed for...
