Cinnamon is a golden comet. I was feeding them Purina layer pellets, but about two weeks ago switched to nutrewise feather fixer, I have a couple other hen in the flock that had molted. I hadn’t thought about that until now, is it possible that this new food has too much protein?
My 2 1/2-year-old hen has become lame overnight. I noticed her acting a little lethargic while putting them up for the evening so brought her in to do a thorough check. She has had Bumblefoot that is being treated, but has not gotten worse. I wondered if she was egg bound so gave her an Epsom...
She does eat and drink well, I give her the Purina duck pellets and a healthy serving of mealworms scatter out to encourage her to move around and get extra protein. I would like to give her something for a little bit of pain management as she is healing but I don’t know where to get the...
Thats what I have been doing for my injured girl during the day while I’m at work is putting her in a large dog crate out in the run so she isn’t by herself inside while she is heeling. That has worked okay for the time being but isn’t going to work for the long run.
I do have one female who is a little more friendly I could try to put with here, but would that upset the other female? Going from a large space to a smaller one?
i have a rescue khaki Campbell duck named Nelsa that is handicapped (attacked by a snapping turtle and lost one toe resulting in decreased mobility) and I dont think she can live with the main flock any longer (1 drake, 6 female). She became lame again and I suspect it is due to being mounted by...
I have one other Swedish Blue who is definitely a Drake also. Is three boys in a flock of eight too many? All except one are of the same age and have been together since day one. I have one older duck who is handicapped(lost a toe to a snapping turtle at her previous home)
I have two kaki Campbell ducks that I am trying to figure out if they are drakes or not. I know, listening to them is the best way to tell, but they are extremely quiet /non talkative and difficult to hear, especially amongst the other ducks. They are around 11 weeks old.
She is the only one, I have had her separated from the flock, she is just standing, not super puffed out but a little and not moving. Been like this since Monday becoming more and more reluctant to drink. She is almost two years old
I have had a lethargic, sick silky chicken for the past three days. Only drinking small amounts If I bring water to her beak, not moving, not pruning. Have supplemented water with the cover 911 and Nutri drench. She has not eaten since Sunday Had some poop and this is what it looks like. Should...
She has been laying eggs, but not frequently. She has never been a heavy layer though. Maybe one or two a week. I did give her an Epsom salt soak bath last night just in case she may be was an I did give her an Epsom salt soak bath last night just in case she may be was egg bound, but it did not...
My one and a half year-old silky yesterday afternoon did not seem like herself. she was hiding and did not come see me when I entered the run for treats. This was unusual. She was hiding and just standing with her eyes closed. The behavior has continued to today. Very lethargic not eating and...
I am thinking that my seven week old Easter Edgar is most likely a roo but would love a second opinion! This is my first round of Easter Eggers, they are the biggest of all for and have that bright red comb and then the rest do
