10 days left until hatch for my blue bresse and I’m down to six. I’m not surprised with shipping this time of year in Canada and the time they took to get here. I do have someone local now I can get white bresse from so that’s a plus.
I’m doing kind of a gamble and replacing non viable eggs...
Day 5 check in and 10 look good! I swapped out one of own chicken eggs due to low probability and put in a couple barred rocks I purchased. Barred rock were the reason I fell in love with chickens (seeing people with them on my road) and I’ve never had them!
I also bought 9 day old chicks...
I have just put blue bresse in the incubator yesterday and hoping for sustainable meat birds.

Today I grabbed an egg from who I think is my splash Cochin girl to put in with the bresse eggs since I had one space. I’m thinking it won’t be fertile but might as well try. Roo would most likely be my brahama ameraucana mix.

5 or 6 eggs for sure saddled right now and one loose. One egg cracked and has an impact point so no let even trying. Eggs are in and the countdown is on!

I just got my shipped eggs this morning sitting out getting to room temp. I’m going to put them in tonight after checking on them under the light.
I haven’t hatched anything out since last spring so I’m excited!
I got 12 blue bresse on a holiday deal and couldn’t resist!
Oh I love them! I just got two Welsh harlequin a month ago and I’m in love with them even though they aren’t In love with me lol.
Hatched out a couple Swedish blue (maybe?) two weeks ago. The eggs were from a mixed flock I believe.
