Cleaning out the fridge before we leave town so the chickens made out like bandits! They got tomatoes, cucumber peels, a couple peaches, and corncobs. Happy chickens.
We use bird scare flash tape. Its available on amazon and a few other places. It blows in the wind, is shiny and scares the hawks away. I heard cds in the trees help too but the keep stealing them. HAha! I can't win. The tape seems to help a lot though.
We have an Australian Shepherd. She herds ducks, geese, sheep, goats, and now my chickens. She has never attacked them. She does drop tennis balls on their heads from time to time because she wants them to play with her but that's the most harm done so far. I don't know if it is a breed...
Not sure if this is a helpful suggestion but its a suggestion, none the less. My first thought would be to trap them and take them to the pound. Even if the owners come and claim them, after two times, they start fining them. So at least you would be costing them money every time you catch...
