    I've been searching the area for anyone that has a plucker for rent or borrow, but no luck so far. This may be the flock we pluck or skin and the next one I will get my own plucker. This has been such an enjoyable experience for me that I look forward to the next batch!! Kim

    I totally agree with bobbi-j. She probably has weak or injured legs, or a broken leg. While she is still healthy, butcher her. I have 7 week old X's and we are butchering this weekend. Yay!! How many do you have? We have about 35. We lost 6-8 over the 7 weeks, not bad I think. Good Luck!! Kim

    Well, do you plan to do the butchering yourself? There are many posts on this forum about how to humanely kill them. I prefer slitting the throat to let them bleed out immediately. They seem to just "go to sleep" this way. My concern is that your birds are so old. They must be enormous...
