I bought an assortment of geese, I'm having some trouble identifying if these are a knobbed breed like Chinese or african or not, like toulouse. I'm having a hard time deciding if where the beak meets fluff is straight or curves up
So do you think these are knob breeds?
Or are they not knob breeds?
I have some goslings i got as an assortment, pretty sure the yellow are white chinese, and the brown are Chinese or african....
Is there away to differentiate between brown chinese and african?
2 pics each goose!
Thoughts?
I can't wait to see!!! Thank you for the help!!! My broody toulouse took the 2, I kept the other in the brooder with my other goslings. I'm impressed with how she is caring for the babies! Her, her sister and their mate are all taking turns caring for them. The male is a chinese, they are all...
I do know she said she got the parents from a hatchery about 5 or 6 years ago. I didn't get to get too close to the parents so couldn't see if they had blue eyes. Baby's don't have blue eyes yet. She said she remembers them being toulouse and maybe an embden, but she again wasn't sure. That was...
I bought some goslings from someone who doesn't know what geese they have. The babies look just like toulouse goslings. I got a picture of the trio that laid them. The two in front look toulouse? One goose one gander? The one in the back is throwing me.
I am no where near a goose expert! I...
It's been muddy...please excuse the muddy feet haha.
Cochin born mid March, Cockerel or pullet? It's throwing me...it's my only one so I don't have a comparison. It's waddles seem large for a female Cochin but I don't see any pointy saddle feathers
Thanks!!
She came from a mixed assortment. She was different than all the rest. I haven't seen one quite like her. Any idea what she is?
Her head has the lovely auburn redbrown color I couldn't pick up correct with the pictures, her chest is a little more silver in person
This is the only picture I have. Im trying to figure out what breed it is. I'm possibly going to get this turkey and would like to know the breed. Owner doesn't know breed
It was supposed to be a sexed female. And since it had to be culled I was internally checking before I fed it to the dogs. I thought all the sexed females looked male externally, the hatchery said no. I have pictures from about 2 weeks ago. I was trying to see if those were testicles by the...
I had a bird that I culled for reasons....it's an 8-10 week old buff Orpington....and I don't see any ovaries/eggs. Are those testicles by the spine? It was supposed to be sexed females. I had to full so I figured I'd check and see.
When I butcher Cornish cross the testicles and ovaries are very...
