Have you tried to increase their protein intake to 22%? I have added chick starter crumble to their 17% pellets. We also give raw pumpkin, ears of corn, kale, spinach, and we add oil of oregano to their water. We have about 33 hens in total. We are up to average 14 - 16 eggs a day.
I love that its red mite resistant. As of today i found out we are battling mites..... its not fun. I wish i could light my coop on fire and start over!
Looks like a blue breasted, leghorn, sapphire gems, or a sapphire splash. Google blue gene chicks and you should find images that may give you that answer. Good luck.
They are common. It is the blue gene, i would have to say its possibly a black maran, or australorp. My babies that look like that are sapphire gens, and Sapphire splashes. But, we also have some blue breasted leghorns, they are a little darker than our sapphires.
