I’m located in Autryville, NC. I’m looking for goslings but won’t pass on adults. They will be pets. I’m looking for a pair, maybe a trio depending on age. I’m open to other breeds of geese as well. Just let me know what ya got lol

    American Gamefowl

This looks exactly like the rooster I was just given. I'm not familiar with GF colors.

    Gamefowl Rooster vs Regular Rooster

I've just heard GF roosters can do the job of 2-3 roosters. That they are more maternal and good at predator protection. Out of the dozens of roosters I've raised, bought or rescued, only a handful (Ameraucana, RIW, Cochin) were good roosters in terms of protecting hens, being gentlemanly, and...

    Gamefowl Rooster vs Regular Rooster

From what I know of game cocks, that my would be my answer too. I'm not looking to mix roosters as he would be the only one roaming but had concern he might try to fight other roosters through fencing.

    Gamefowl Rooster vs Regular Rooster

For years I've usually had a menagerie of roosters (3-6) in my yard to protect my flock (some would stick to particular hens and I'd take in homeless roosters, so I usually have enough birds to keep the roosters from fighting) but I recently took in a Game cock while searching for a new rooster...

    Color genetics thread.

I know I've seen the answer to this somewhere but can't find it on here. What is the percentage of chicks that will be laced/partially laced from a Silver laced rooster to a blue hen? I'm not worried about the color of the lacing, only they are laced. I'm having a problem finding SL Cochin hens...

Color of Bantam Cochin ~Cuckoo or Barred?~

Sounds like a good plan and were still considering it. Just sounds like so much work but he's basically the only project bird we have. He's a great rooster but we still might find him a home. The blue barring is not common in our area and so we figured he would be something cool to work with...

Color of Bantam Cochin ~Cuckoo or Barred?~

Thanks for taking the time to break it down for me. I wasn't sure how well he would do. He was an oddball bird in a bunch of chicks we hatched and kept him because of his coloring thinking the only thing to breed out would be the tail and I was wrong. I do want a project but not that much of...

    Rabbits with splayed legs

Thank you for the advice. I really considered finding him a new home but I waited it out and he's fine now. I believe it was because of how chunky he was and after I got him he slimmed down a bit. His legs seemed to have corrected themselves and he has no problem running or jumping around.

Color of Bantam Cochin ~Cuckoo or Barred?~

I know this is an old post but I was curious about my birds coloring. We bought him not knowing he was fully Cochin and his "barring" is odd. It's not exactly complete all over his body and he's starting to get a yellow/gold leakage over the barred. He also has the wrong tail. What color hens...

tell gender of Muscovy ducklings by voice

I was actually looking for the answer to this. A couple days ago when I picked up one of my barred Muscovies, she started making a low honking noise. Almost like a quack but not quite. I thought this particular barred was a male but all the males only hiss. So I'm assuming only females make this...

french black copper marans with white feathers????????

So the white did go away on my Marans. Both of the Blues and blacks had it. I was worried there for a while. Glad to know the problem fixed itself.

    Rabbits with splayed legs

What if the back legs are splayed but they can get around fine? Is this something that will get worse over time? Last month I got a baby Holland who seemed to have splayed back legs and he gets around fine. I thought maybe it was because he's a fat little thing. His legs are more outward then...

    Lots of Duck Questions

Well all 3 of the Pekin turned out to be males as well as the Magpie duck. I ended up selling them to a guy who wanted some ducks to roam his pond. The "dark duck" ended up being a darker chocolate Muscovy which I think is a girl but I'm not sure. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to...

What's the average age ducks lay eggs?

I've heard of ducks laying as early as 13 weeks and was wondering if it depends on the time they were born/season they mature at when they will lay. I have a pair of Appleyards whom are between 19-22 weeks old and the male's green head feathering is just starting to come in. I also have 2...
