    Thanks. Yes, LF chocolate Cochin is what I’m working towards. I wish I would have started out with a chocolate Orpington roo but I couldn’t find one at the time.

    Can I use medication to put down a sick bird?

    If you contact your local US dept of agriculture, who does the NPIP testing, they will put your chicken down for you. Just call your local extension office to get the number or go to the us department of agriculture website.

    Do you have red lights in with your chicks? Once I put red light bulbs in with my chicks they stopped pecking each other. Sorry for your loss.

    Swollen Baby Chick

    I once had a chick that felt like she was filled with air. I called the vet and he said to gently squeeze the air out which I did but it kept returning. After a week or so she returned to normal after the doctor said she probably wouldn't make it. But she is still alive today and that was lat year.
