"They installed an electronic fence but after two weeks the dog discovered that if she runs fast enough, the shock isn't that bad"
That was really funny and I had to laugh out loud. Been reading old posts as I just got a 7 week old GP and have chickens and coyotes on 10 acres.
Lambchicks, thanks for this thread. I have a white EE/Ameraucana chick from Ideal too and was curious how she would turn out. She's 2 weeks old, started out yellow and is now pure white.
And thank you, Ray24, for showing what she "should" look like if she's really an Ameraucana.
Awww geez. I know you're a wife, I have no idea why I put that on there. Usually when I make a mistake like that, I'll correct it when I read it later but I was in such a hurry, never even saw it. Enjoy each other best as you can.
I have been giving them away but at some point I would like to sell them to passers-bys. I kinda wanted the eggs to get bigger before I asked somebody to pay for them. I'm still non-GMO, soy-free so hoping there's a demand for that because the price per egg is steep.
If those who remember...
Happy to hear about the professor's progress. If she's made this much progress in 3 weeks, just think how much more she can improve. If you're talking about the chicken eggs loosing their gloss? I too have had several like that. What causes it? Lack of calcium or lack of bloom?
Hope you have a great time and I'm waiting for truly warm weather too, not this fickle junk we've been having. We look forward to the pics of your new eggs. I'm sure you'll be just as excited about them as if you were there.
