    A Frenchman has experimented by giving a group of hens cubes of bread and a second group cubed bread soaked in wine. The group the got the wine soaked bread laid 30% more eggs. My silkie hens seem to like wine and will drink it from my glass; the usually give me 6 eggs per week

    No; Breathing the dust is bad for chickens and for you. Dust bathing is fine if mixed with sand or dirt

    Get a good broody hen like a silkie or Orpington. My silkies have 100% hatch rates

    I have a black silkie who only lays rounded eggs and a white Silkie that only lays pointed eggs so I don't think egg shape is very informative.
