    Just wanted to add that my rooster has large spurs and loves my hens, is gentle and protects them, he escorts them and finds food for them....watch his interaction is is quite remarkable...my sons are 9 and 12 and have interacted with him for years....they give him rooster cuddles and he loves...

    if you have them separated and any are still alive under a heat lamp make sure to teach them how to drink from a shallow chick waterer by dipping their beaks into the water....and feel them hard boiled egg yolks...it will make them strong if they can survive...some hens are good brooders but not...
