    Sharon, I totally agree with you. The bill accounts for acreage as a measure for how many chickens you can have. It prevents roosters and also accounts for noise complaints and nuisance. It says that if your neighbors complain, you can't have them.

    It’s not actually law yet. It was just proposed last year. It’s still under review. But, if it passes, no local municipality in Ohio can ban backyard chickens. Please share this with people who want to have chickens

    I think that what you’re saying is that the issue of enforcement becomes an issue. But, I think that if you’re interested in chickens for eggs, it makes sense for you to take care of them bc what they produce goes into your body.

    Ohio House Bill 124 would allow residential homeowners in all of Ohio to raise chickens. It was put forward last year but is under review by the Agriculture committee. You may think about writing to committee members to encourage them to pass the bill into law.
