    Rooters favorite hens

It's a tough situation if you aren't willing to eat the roos. I have two that hatched in Halloween, I offered them for free but looks like we will end up eating them. They had a good life and I can't have them stressing out my flock.

How much land? Chicken/Turkey to acre ratio...

I think you would want some kind of moveable coop with electrified fence so you can control where they are ranging and not destroy the grass.

    10 week old cockerel aggressive?

Do you make them into soup in the instant pot? Our what? I'm going to be butchering some young cockerels soon is why I ask. They are 13 weeks now, and I think I heard a crow this morning. I offered them up for free with no takers, and I already have a very nice rooster, so they are going to feed...

    Multiple unidentified chickens

If the previous owner said some were marans, the rooster is probably a marans. Although the APA calls for feathering on the legs, and he lacks feathered legs, many birds shown in 4H are hatchery quality birds. Cackle hatchery for sure sells both marans and French marans, the only difference...

Sore skin, flaky, scaly, feathers come out with the flakes.

The fact that no new flakes are forming is very promising! That was not the case with my girl, which makes sense because I was trying to treat a fungus and it wasn't a fungal infection. I was not seeing any improvement, so if you are, I would give the current route a chance. Does her skin look...

    Chicken skin problem

Yeah it warmed up here and then they stopped laying... I think they are confused lol. I will update on Cersei as soon as I notice a difference. Poor think is constantly preening and shaking her feathers. I can tell she is itchy.

Sore skin, flaky, scaly, feathers come out with the flakes.

Hi I'm the lady from ther other thread! Just wanted to add that they also told me not to give her any more baths to avoid irritating the skin more.

    Chicken skin problem

They did look under a microscope. They also did say they aren't chicken experts :) no guesses on type of bacteria but gave us a broad spectrum antibiotic. I also had fecal test done on droppings from my big girls and they found no parasites. It's weird because they have stopped laying in the...

    Chicken skin problem

They looked under a microscope, no mites and no yeast. Guessing bacteria. We are going to treat with an antibiotic.

    Ordered Chicks! Assortment Surprise!

Eggs are probably as sensitive but if they don't hatch, it doesn't feel like they suffered. Still a financial loss though...
