Oh ya, he can definitely be gone for months! Catching him will be very difficult. He's not used to you anymore, but if there's food and a live trap available you may be able to convince him early in the morning to climb on in! Lol. Good luck, little buggers.
Welcome!! I had no trouble...
20 minutes is all they need in a hot water bath. Thats all I do. My grandmother taught me how to can tomatoes and never put lemon juice in there. They are acidic enough. Same for pickling.
@Katt66 has a jersey giant hen that is broody for her third time this year! Crazy girls. She doesn't have space so Peri is going to live with me for a few months. I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited about it! Lol
I did! I had to do it though the website. You cannot do it on the app. Ya, turkeys! Hoping to get some turkey eggs to htch next spring!
Love his name! ;)
Sadly, no! I wish! I cannot figure out how to change it to my birds!
Information is scarce on this matter! We know the effects of calcium in humans and other animals so we can take a pretty good guess what will hppen to a rooster when he doesn't use exta calcium to poduce shells...
Correct, Flock raiser with oyster shell on the side. The higher protein is good for all birds and will help them through their molt as well. Some birds will lay eggs while they molt, but most do not. 2-6 weeks after they finish you can expect to see eggs again!
I switched to all flock about a year ago, and I love it! My only issue with it is that I can only buy it in crumbles and not pellets. Although I do ferment it, crumbles don't expand nearly as much as pellets do. I feed them a ton of scraps too! Spoiled rotten little things.
I seem to always...
Yes! In my lily's when her favorite box is taken by a broody or in the hay bin! She's an every day olive layer so I know when I'm not getting eggs to go on an egg hunt!
