To free range or to not free range? That is the question

Ugh, isn't that annoying! I used to let my chickens free range quite a bit losing one maybe once a year to a predator but since our neighbor got a new dog last year, she comes over here all the time and they don't keep her contained!! I've lost two chickens to that dog now and all she can say is...

Integrating young chickens with older ones

TheTwoRoos, maybe it's not as bad as I think. There is a lot of pecking and feather pulling from one of the older chickens. The other two seem to leave them alone. The younger ones try to walk around and mind their own business but end up hiding behind something and not coming out after being...

A disease that needs quarantine or just failure to thrive?

A disease that needs quarantine or just failure to thrive?

A disease that needs quarantine or just failure to thrive?

Hi! I am a new chicken mom. I hope this isn't repetitive but I couldn't find the answer to my question exactly. I got our first chicks on Wed 12/2. We ordered six chicks and upon opening the box two were obviously not doing well. I thought one was dead already but it wasn't. When I got them...
