    I certainly will. Do I need to supplement her food any? I would like to keep my fingers. I guess I won't be doing any candling. This will be harder than when I hatched some now that I have a very protective hen.

    My two females have gone broody. They won't leave their nest and if I get near they hiss at me. Is this normal broody behavior. This is the first they have set on them all day?

    I have been soaking his foot in Epsom salt twice a day. can I use neosporin? Vet just said to soak and give antibiotics /pain meds. He seems to bear some weight on his foot now. There isn't a fever in his foot like before but still swollen. Hoping he is on the mend.

    I am struggling with one of my Pekin drakes. Vet said it looked like a turtle my have got to his foot. She gave him an Antiflamatory and antibiotic. It's been several days of meds and soaking feet. I am not seeing much improvement? Can I put liquid bandaids on the Cuts? Or should I call the vet...

    Besides ducks- what else ya got?

    4 pekin and 15 ducklings, 2 dogs, a rabbit (thinking of breeding him) and 2 daughters (ages 2 & 4). Hoping to get some chickents and still trying to convince hubby to let me get some geese.

    I just recently hatched 15 . My neighbors house burnt down so he gave me his two drakes and bought two females. I think daisy is possibly a jumbo. She is quite larger than the others. I didn't expect such a good first hatch since they say ducks eggs are harder to hatch.

    Happy to report huey will be ok. Vet said looked like a turtle possibly got his foot. So I got to give him an antibiotic for ten days.

    duck leg injury

    I have a one year old Pekin drake with a leg injury. He will not bear weight on it at all. He was fine this morning but came home in afternoon to him limping. He allowed me to pick him up so I know something is wrong. Doesn't appear to be broken but looks like an abscess ?
