    The stump is purely decorative, it is nailed to the chicken coop. We took lots of pictures because we figured it won't stay pretty for very long!

    The prop stick is just for us when we want to reach the eggs. The door will generally be kept closed. There is a side door for them to enter the space right next to the ramp. When you mention that the nest boxes are too high, do you mean the actual height of the boxes themselves? Or the height...

    Yes, it's hard to see from the photo, but we put the cloth apron before putting down the sand. It's stapled to the wood.
