    Texas Free Rehomings

    In Austin! 2 beautiful about 11 week old cockerels need rehoming (2 of the 15 pullets turned out to be roos and cannot keep them). A Sapphire olive egger and a Sapphire Gem. Beautiful, sweet boys. I will drive a considerable distance for them to do to a great home.

    Pullet or cockerel? Sapphire Gem

    I can show you what my now 10ish week old Sapphire Gem and Sapphire Olive Egger cockerels looked like at 6 - 8 weeks old..... there was NO denying it! Very large, bright red combs and wattles and some distinction in the feather colors. And sure enough right at about 10 weeks old (so early!)...

    Sapphire Olive Egger....pullet or cockerel?

    If anyone is in or near central Texas or knows anyone in or near central Texas who would like this beautiful boy, we cannot keep him. As of now, he is very sweet. Might be better to take him now while still young and get him used to his new family. Please let me know!

    Update on this guy at least..... should be 8.5 weeks. This morning at first sight of sunrise, heard something from the coop camera that sounded... almost like an attempted crow. Ifeel this would be insanely early for that. Looked at the camera and this guy was awake but went back to sleep...

    This is what I was leaning towards. I was actually quite annoyed with Hoovers response after I sent them my order number, multiple photos of the 2 in question, and those 2 in question compared to the other chicks. This email exchange was at 6 weeks old. I specifically explained in my email...

    Hello! About 7 weeks ago, we received 15 chicks from Hoover's. 5 are an assortment of Sapphires. 2 that are Sapphire Olive Eggers (tufts on heads) really have me concerned they might be cockerels. These two, pictured at about 6 weeks old, one now at about 7 weeks really has some rust colored...
