Where can I get a female baby chicken this weekend?
I hatched one baby this week by accident and it needs a friend. I don't want to go to Pratt's and I've called a few places that either don't have any or only have unsexed chicks.
Thanks!
I hope she found a kind soul who is taking care of her, yeah. We have at least three other families with chickens in the neighborhood, two of which said they didn't see her. The other house doesn't answer their door even when I know there's someone inside.
I'd love to say she's a sweet girl...
One of my hens has gone missing. She's red/brown, average size. Location is near Thomas Rd and 16th St in Phoenix.
No evidence of predator incident. She probably escaped through a hole in the fence. Even if she isn't alive, I would prefer closure over not knowing. Missing since Monday. :(
Wow, you guys are GOOD. Sugar started crowing this morning. It sounded like someone stepping on a bullfrog, but it was a crow. What the heck am I going to do with a total of three roosters in my flock of eight? Oh well, I'm sure we'll figure something out.
Thanks for the replies guys. I REALLY hoping Sugar isn't a boy. I've already got two roosters in my flock of seven outdoor chickens! We've been training Sugar to be an indoor pet and he/she has been doing very well in that respect. I guess we'll deal with it when it happens.
I've got two other...
I bought this chick (named Sugar) from the Americauna bin at the local feed store. I've got two full grown Americauna hens and Sugar matches the coloring on her back, but her front looks completely different with white and dark brown/black feathers. Obviously the pics were taken a few weeks...
I imagine this has been asked before, but I'm not sure how to find the answer....
Where should I go if I'm looking to rescue a hen? I've looked at a few animal shelter sites and haven't found any chickens in AZ that need rescuing. Do local egg production places let people adopt the hens they...

BE CERTAIN TO ISOLATE THE HEN WITH THE RUNNY NOSE AWAY FROM YOUR OTHER CHICKENS.
If it has infectious bronchitis, it could devastate your entire flock.
Eek. Is this fatal? This is my pet house chicken, I would be devestated.
Has anyone had a problem with Valley Fever with your chickens? I'm thinking I might have gotten it and if my chickens are taking dirt baths outside, can't they get it too? I have a hen with a runny nose but is otherwise fine.
Thanks!
