I truly have a backyard flock in a residential neighborhood. This time around, since my space is smaller, and I am limited to the number of chickens in my flock, I decided to go with all Silkies. As of July 2022 I have 7 grow outs. Surely some of these are roosters which I really cannot have. Although I may try to get away with one. My goal would be to have a rainbow flock, all different colors. Right now I have 2 whites, 2 blue and 3 black. My white rooster, who is about a week older than the blues and blacks, started crowing (no kidding!) at seven weeks old.
