Will cats attack silkies or similar sized breeds?

I find that it is most humane to shoot the cats in the center of the top of the head at near point-blank range while they are trapped. A second shot is seldom needed but I usually offer one anyhow just to make sure suffering is minimal. An average BB gun is probably not adequate - and certainly...

Will cats attack silkies or similar sized breeds?

I have lost more chickens to feral cats than to any other predator. (Hawks are #2.) I trap all of the cats that I can and then shoot them in the head with a pellet gun and put them in a trash bag for the garbage man. There does seem to be an endless supply of them due to their prolific...

    Chicken safe cat deterrents??

Feral cats are a terrible problem in my area. I have lost more young chickens to feral cats than to any other predator. I use a catch-alive trap at night, baited with a little jack mackerel or scraps. When I trap a cat, I cap it in the head with a pellet gun, and put it in a trash bag for the...

What is your chickens’ favorite scrap treat?

#1 is Cooked spaghetti; no sauce. A little butter on it is a plus. Cooked green silk from corn on the cob is also worth creating a ruckus over.

Aggressive rooster and small children, really need some answers asap

Sometimes it's hard to do, but his place is in the crock-pot. My guess is that he won't improve his disposition. Personally, I have little tolerance for a rooster that doesn't know it's role, and that means zero aggression towards the hands that feed him.
