    Pecking/Eating Straw Bales

    In the PNW rain and mud is a constant it seems. I’ve placed straw bales on their pen randomly for places to perch and yes they peck at them but not a lot. Recently tho I’ve caught a hen eating some wet strands. Should I be concerned? Maybe alfalfa bales would be a smarter choice? Yes they have...
