    Easter Egger chick colors?

This girl looks more like a roo to me? I would keep my eye on her.

I just moved my Australorp into the brooder, will try to put eggs under her tomorrow if she takes well to the move. This is her first time going broody and she went feet first into it, she has only been broody about a week but by day 2 all her tummy feathers were gone! I did a hatch earlier this...

    Easter Egger chick colors?

Its almost like she is evenly unevenly patterned. If that makes sense. I am just curious how a buff/blue EE will look as an adult. Should be pretty.

    Easter Egger chick colors?

Here are my 3 chicks at 5 weeks old. Does anyone have an adult that looked like the lightest chick? The coloring is different from others I have had and I am curious. It acts like a girl with no comb color even though the coloring is a little patchy.

Here is an update of my 3 EE chicks now that they are 5 weeks old. They all act and posture like girls but one of them is getting a pink comb already. The lighter one has some different coloring with the light buff color mixed with blue in a weird uneven pattern, but other than its uneven...

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Well, all the chicks did really well this weekend running around the coop and run, taking dust baths and sun bathing. But mom decided to abandon them officially today, pecking them when they came close to her, so now they are on their own under a lamp in my brooder. Unless it is decent weather...

I am going to have some roosters I wont need. They are either going to find good homes or become thanksgiving. I have a 1 year old Cuckoo Maran rooster that is very sweet to his girls, in fact I nicknamed him Romeo because he is so sweet. But now that I have offspring from him, I need to get new...

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Thanks vpatt and LofMc. She laid another egg today. She and the chicks are in a large dog crate that is in the main coop, I let them out with the flock to run around a couple times a day to get them integrated. When I do let them out she seems to stay with them and be mom, and tonight while the...

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

My EE mom just laid an egg today, her chicks are only like 3 1/2 weeks old right now. She still is being a doting mother to the chicks, no change in behavior. But is this the beginning of the end of her "mothering" this current brood of chicks?

    Easter Egger chick colors?

redrooster99 thanks for the then-to-now pictures of your Hawk. Never would have guessed that roo from that chick. Just goes to show you never know what they will end up looking like! Part of the fun of having EEs.

    Easter Egger chick colors?

Chick number 1 looks just like my EE mom did as a chick. The EE chicks are supposed to be pullets. And to answer your question, the chicks under my EE mom are my flocks mixed babies that she hatched out herself. They are from a Cuckoo Maran rooster over Delaware, Barred Rock, Black Australorp...

Thanks! This chick has interesting coloring so it will be fun to see how it turns out. I want an EE roo so I wont be heartbroken if it turns out that way. If someone has had a chick with this coloring I would love to see how it turned out.

I have a mixed flock, but you are welcome to some eggs if you want. I have a Cuckoo Maran rooster over Buff Orpington, Black Australorp, Barred Rock, Delaware, and Easter Egger hens. I just hatched out my first from them and these are my chicks at 2 1/2-3 weeks old. Most are supposed to look...
