Leaving turkeys to roost in the trees over night?
What kind of turkeys are these they are BEAUTIFUL!! I can't even get my male to roost on a bar 2' off the ground let alone a treee haha, they female roosts on a bench at night inside the run that's about it!! -

Well I am happy to say my hen Stumpy laid her first two eggs!!!! We found her in coop this morning & there was an egg under her, then I went back out and she was in coop again & laid another!! First one just of been from yesterday i made her a nice straw bed sooooo happy!! -

I am in Washington state & it's been warmer than usual so mayb I want to try the Turkey eggs for baking & then I will also be hatching some to sell in spring or raise for someone to butcher. These two we have now are total pets, won't be dinners they are wayyyy to spoiled LOL -

So I am wondering at about what age hens start to lay eggs? We have a tom & hen that are about 5-6 months old, she is starting to act different, like when we pet her under her wings she goes down on the ground, then my tom gets on top of her! I know that is mating thing but wouldn't she need... -

Actually it is 20%same as chick starter, I do believe there is a game bird feed that is around 16% the same as my layer feed, I will be checking it out next time at the feed store -
