Howdy! I’ve been a member if this forum for a long time but havently really been active. We had chickens, then moved, had to rehome them, bought some land, started building a house and now we have 13 chicks! I jumped the gun a bit and ordered some online from Ideal Poultry. They are officially a...
I live in Hutto and have the same problem. My chickens are not housed at our house. That was the only way around the HOA problem for us since I have neighbors that would report us and a weenie dog that would stalk them. I have two red sex links and a black australorp hen. The red hens are...
Anyone near Austin have Silkie, Frizzle or Sizzle hens/pullets for sale or trade? I have a white leghorn hen that I'd like to find a new home for and would be willing to trade her for a different (and more tame) hen or pullet. She's pretty wild but lays a perfect egg every day. Hatched in...

Question about gathering eggs...
I'm going out of town July 4-7th. I have an automatic waterer set up for the chickens and a feeder that's big enough. Would the eggs be good if I collected them when I return?
My gut is telling me no because of the heat.
Ahh you must have used the ones with the bigger squares. I know the 4x4 ones are pretty pricey. We used those for our dog run. With the $20 ones, it would definitely be affordable.
