Thanks for this post. I just had a serama chick hatch with this weird red growth on its back above the tail and almost had a heart attack. So happy to know it's nothing serious.
I help him drink because he just scoots around on his side. It looks like his one leg isn't working right. If I hold him up and let his legs dangle the one will kick away but the other one just stays up by his body with the toes all together.
Thanks. I'm completely new to all this so fingers crossed he gets strength in his legs. I feel so bad for him cause he just flops around like a fish. I have started to give him the vitamins today but any time I get him to drink them or water it starts to come out his nose.
His belly is looking a lot better but not perfect. The swelling is gone I'm thrilled to say. Here are a couple pics. I have been putting antibiotic ointment on it.
Ok. The little guy finally " hatched" himself out of the towel this morning but now he can't stand up or walk. He just lays on his side and kicks a whole bunch. Any suggestions on how to help him stand. If I put him on his legs he falls over to the same side every time.
Well so far he is still alive. He's kicking his legs a lot and moving his head around. I looked at his belly though and it still looks terrible. Hopefully he'll pull through. I'll let you know.
Above is a picture of it. I had to assist in the hatch from start with this little guy. He was malpositioned. Now that he is out of the shell his belly looks terrible. I'm not sure if those are is intestines sticking out or what. Please help me save this little guy
