If you haven't already done the cull, I find the hatchet on a chopping block the easiest. Get your block and axe ready. I am assuming your axe is already sharp. Hold her to yourself and speak calmly. Holding her upside down, she will trance calmly. Set her head on the block...say a little prayer...

Isn't the sprout/grass too tall for chickens to eat safely? I was always told under 3 inches, and if you cut it down to that size and then water it again, would it continue to grow or is Barley a one and done grow?

If you google or look on Amazon, if you use it....there are many pasture seed listings, some specific to chickens. It usually tales a week or so to sprout here in CT with sustained moisture, but once it starts, it's off to the races! Good luck.....Oh, and yes, I like the mix but your bees might...
