Sour crop on 6 week old Golden Comet Roo

2 days ago this little man had a beautiful tail and then in the morning the tail area was de-feathered and red. No big blood amounts but a little very light pink when touched with gauze. Put on liquid Blue coat and cream. Treated with ease, but noticed vent has white liquid-like poo and nothing...

Removing chicks before they are dry in incubator ?

Yes...use sponges towards the last and I have moved moist chicks to the brooder, but as the are dazed and look different, they get bullied. Why do you have water access in you incubator?

Praise you for quick thinking. Hard to say but they should've ok. I would give them electrolyte in their water for a boost.

    How do you cull chickens?

If you haven't already done the cull, I find the hatchet on a chopping block the easiest. Get your block and axe ready. I am assuming your axe is already sharp. Hold her to yourself and speak calmly. Holding her upside down, she will trance calmly. Set her head on the block...say a little prayer...

Thanks for saying white eggs can be candled, as any other color is a hit or miss and some of the darker shells are a just plain no to see anything. Good article.

What do you do with your chickens when they die?

    OK. Thanks for the clarification.

What do you do with your chickens when they die?

Yikes! Doesn't that encourage them to come closer looking for more? We had a neighbor down the road a piece who put out feed and meat scraps for the wild fox, and it caused everyone to have more fox in the area, looking for a live kill. Once the neighbor stopped feeding, life ion the area for...

Yes. I hang mine upside down with twine from a shelf or rafters and they have a wonderful time pecking and thrashing it about.

Chicken screams when I touch them

I really don't understand your post. Sorry...you have conflicting stories and when someone tells you they'd say bye bye, you disagree, so perhaps you just adjust. Wear armor when near her and live and let live. Happy days.

If you google or look on Amazon, if you use it....there are many pasture seed listings, some specific to chickens. It usually tales a week or so to sprout here in CT with sustained moisture, but once it starts, it's off to the races! Good luck.....Oh, and yes, I like the mix but your bees might...
