That’s funny! I’ve not had a bantam Ameraucana that’s broody yet, and Bonnie is very uninterested in the whole thing! 🤪 I got 6 eggs to develop and hatch and 5 of them died within the first week :-( So I have one lonely girl I’m hoping grows up strong.
Look at those cuties!! I can't get over how cute silkies are--little, gentle, moppets! I have coveted Buckaboo Farm silkies for some time! She's just really far away from Sacramento haha. I have gotten silkies from Featherbabyfarm though--if you like to peruse, I highly recommend her as well...
Same, Google and the BYC genetics threads have been a huge start for me as well! But I now have a friend that is a walking encyclopedia of chicken genetics and she has been very patient with my questions and is very willing to teach as well. It's really helped me think about things and...
So good to see you! We've missed you! I actually let some of my 7-8 week olds out for some supervised play time on Monday and they loved it! They did NOT enjoy the clarinet practice however…🤪😆
That is so awesome! I didn't see that sale!! I should have been watching. I want a lavender baby OD!! Okay, when these babies start laying I definitely want to get some eggs from you :D I got overwhelmed with too many of my own hatching this year and couldn't process adding to it haha. Next year...
A chicken coop maid service would seriously be the BEST and I would PAY for that without blinking! :D Free child labor is not at all sufficient!! Although I have started paying my daughter when I go out of town to do the work I usually do and she is amazingly more competent when being paid ha...
I know, a video of the chaos would have been amazing! The puppy was SOOO happy and FAST! It really would have been hilarious to rewatch the whole thing haha.
Have they survived the mud apocalypse? I'm so glad that spring has arrived for you up there! You guys got it so much worse than we did down here. While the mud will be my forever nemesis, I still HATE the Valley heat the most! I wish I lived up by you in the cool, foggy redwoods! I try to get up...
4-H is a wonderful program! I wanted to do it as a kid and never got the chance either, so now that I have kids, I get to be involved! :) Kids are good for all sorts of things haha. The Club closest to us didn't even have a poultry project and yet they are in Fair Oaks, which is known for its...
The good ones always seem to be the most fragile! There's nothing better than a great rooster! I hope you are able to find yourself another good one :love
