Hi! I live in King William County, Va and 2 of my 6 chickens (4 months old) have turned out to be roosters! Sigh. Things are not going well, and seem to be getting worse by the day. The roosters are not fighting each other and are not aggressive towards me or my children (I have three littles)...

    TWO! Roosters. Questions about Bullying!

How does one go about finding a home for roosters? LOL. I mean, who wants them? Unless they only have hens and wants chicks?

    TWO! Roosters. Questions about Bullying!

Hello - Our chickens are almost 4 months old. We have three rhode island reds and three buff orps. Two of the buff orps have turned out to be roosters. One of them is already crowing (and has been for 2 weeks). All of our chickens live in an open air coop. Plenty big for the hens - but perhaps...

water for chickens in hot weather

I change and add fresh cold well water in the am and then again in the pm. I actually just did again because it is heating up so quickly (and this time I added ice to the waterer thanks to your suggestions!). They also like the hose to make little rivelets in bottom of their run. They scratch...

6 week old Chicks Pecking each others (Eyes and combs)

Interestingly, there has been no further pecking. The pecking was Wednesday. I purchased cracked corn on Thurs. am and spread some about and checked on them throughout the day. The wounds healed quickly on all three, there has been no further attack and they all seem to be happy together...

6 week old Chicks Pecking each others (Eyes and combs)

Thanks for the response: We have 6 and they are 6 1/2 weeks old. 3 Buffs 3 Rhode Island Reds I just checked on them (again) and it is two Buffs that have injuries and 1 Red. They are pecked around the eyes and a little on the comb. They do not have lamp on them - they have a fresh air coop...

6 week old Chicks Pecking each others (Eyes and combs)

I have 6 Buff Orpington's that are now a little over 6 weeks old. They are quite happy (or so I thought) in THE GARDEN COOP. They have good protein food, plenty of water, fresh air, scratching, worms, ants and fresh produce snacks. The two largest ones have done some dancing around each other...
