Yes. Feathers all over.
But I didn’t notice patches missing on the actual chickens so I assumed they’re just losing some feathers here and there.
They are confined in a coop, but it’s on a dirt floor
It’s not so cold here really, but the weather has changed. The chickens have not been laying. I get between 3-6 eggs on a good day when I was getting 11+
Some haven’t laid since they were broody months ago.
One chicken I found mites in her, treated them all, and her feathers have since started...
One of my hens has been shedding and I checked her and found two mites on her.
I have 24 other chickens. I have no idea how she got them. They’re in a closed coop on a soil floor, no new chickens and nothing other than some new feed.
She hasn’t laid any eggs in a few days, but I didn’t think...
I never even thought to notice anything as I looked at the comb and wattle and they were just so small. I figured it was just a huge Brahma. It was my first Brahma I’ve owned. Then my husband saw it on top of another chicken and he said I think this one’s a male.
So bummed. I bought 6 chickens...
I have the worst luck with marans.
These are two new ones, the one on the right is a bit older. But still looking like a male.
What do you all think?
5 and 6 weeks old
I have two chickens that lay such different color than what I saw those breeds lay.
My Australorp lays very light brown almost cream color eggs.
My Dominque lays basically white eggs - not like tonight white, but whiter than all my eggs.
Middle two eggs
I’ve only been doing it for 8 months. Feel better than I have in years. Lost weight I have been trying to lose for years. Love that I don’t eat as much, kind of a food addict; and this was a great solution that got rid of the cravings.
