I’ve got a sick pullet. Not sure what’s going on. We had a new chicken that we introduced yesterday but we actually quarantined that chicken for 35 days and it’s fine so I’m a little confused. I separated this chicken and she’s in our little hospital coop with 1gal of water and 2.5tsp of corrid...
Is save-a-chick good for that? Also, if it’s a slipped tendon will it heal or will he always have issues! My kids have named him (or her) Pepper the peg-legged pirate. Lol
I just hatched some chicks (my first time) and two of them had spraddle leg (I thought) so I did the straw and rubber band thing. Two of them were all better within 48 hours. This other one, however, seems to have more issues and im not sure what to do for it. For one, his spraddle leg doesn't...
Question: it’s been 24 hours since the first little guy was born. He and two others are all dry. Three more were born probably within the last hour or two (I just woke up) and they are still wet and floppy. Should I move the fluffy guys to the broader and leave the wet ones in the incubator...
I know it could take all day or more but this is my current set up. Im a photography editor so im just sitting at my computer all day editing. I set up my zero gravity lounge chair next to the incubator and am just waiting for some more to hatch :)
6.5 hours later....nothing has changed. the pip hasn't got any bigger and no other eggs (theres 26 in there and all fertilized as of day 10) I know it could take a while but is that normal?
WE'VE GOT A PIP!!!! Now hopefully theres no shrink wrapping or drowning because my incubator temp and humidity indicator is very wrong I think, and I dont fully trust my hydrometer. *cross fingers*
We’ve actually had FIVE stillborn babies. Awful. The last one was just recently. I told my husband “well, seems I can’t incubate humans OR chicks”. Lol. Laughter is def the best medicine. Thanks for your comment :)
