    Roosters--to have or not to have

    Some of you have mentioned candling eggs. I am far too lazy to candle the eggs before we sell them. I read somewhere that if you gently shake the egg, it will never hatch. Is there any truth to this or is it an "old wives tale"? As long as we refridgerate the eggs within a day or so, should...

    Prolapsed . . . something

    That just happened to one of my chicks last night. She was also bleeding from the picky area and the beak. I think it is a prolapsed anus. I have no idea what could have caused it. I brought her into the house to keep warm but she died overnight.
