Here’s a kitty update :) I named him Salem.
I’ve witnessed one good sign already: there was a duck in my front yard about 10 feet away from him and he didn’t even give it the time of day. He barely glanced at it, much less attack it!
Thank you very much! I feel like I would be able to do that. He’s a really cool cat and I feel bad for him. He’s not like a mangy feral beast, I’m pretty sure he was a pet that was dumped and has been living in the woods for a while.
Wow that’s insane! And no I don’t have a rooster I actually just got rid of one :/ I’m not sure what I’m gonna do... I’ll have to think it over some more.
Thank you for the advice. What if I put in extra effort to keep them separated? Like keep the cat in the front yard while I’m out back with the chickens? And make sure that I watch them while they’re out of the coop?

My Australorp is 14 weeks old, and now I’m questioning if “she” is a hen. She was sexed when I got her, so I thought it was pretty much guaranteed that she would be a hen. However, her long, curved tail feathers are telling me otherwise. What do y’all think?
Please be nice if the answer is...
Hey everyone, my name is Lana Ng! After years of wanting some, I finally bought my first chickens on August 2nd! I have an Australorp, an Ameraucana, and 2 Rhode Island Reds! They were all sexed to be hens when I got them (supposedly) and now they’re 14 weeks old. I admittedly don’t know much...
