    Professional breeder advice needed. I want to get another cockerel and the closest breeder to me only has true black. I have BBS. At one time I thought I heard some of y'all say they are different when it came to breeding. Please enlighten me so I breed properly. Thanks.

    So sorry for your loss. That's my biggest fear. I currently have a very healthy closed flock but all of my cockerels were culls. Very scary bringing in new chickens. I wish you continued success with your remaining flock. We all know how much you love your chickens and the time you put into it...

    I was in a local feed store and they got baby chicks in while I was there. I asked what kind of chicks they were and they said Ameraucana. I told her if they came from a hatchery, they are probably Easter Eggers. She got mad and said they sold them as Ameraucana and they lay green and blue eggs...

    I feel that way every time I pick up something in the store and it says that which is 98% of the time. It makes me wonder if we can make anything anymore. I would gladly pay extra. So sorry you lost all those eggs. That's horrible!
